Description
The modern Chinese Orchestra and recording Gaohu poses many problems in the orchestra. They usually have insufficient volume, or the wolf tones interfere too much with the high registers or are usually way too expensive for the musician to afford as they are likely to be commissioned by orchestras and are limited in production. Even if they are master-made, every Gaohu, due to the difference in skin portions of the python, sound radically different, making the Gaohu section sound un-uniformed.
EcoErhu created this model of the Gaohu with the modern musician in mind. Clean sweet tones, coupled with high sensitivity towards dynamics and uniformed sound, enables the orchestra to have unformed tones within the Gaohu section, and making the section, in tutti, blend in together as one section.
Using Black Sandalwood, the high registers are well supported and robust. The choice of EcoErhu Membrane is slightly thinner on the side has been fashioned to replicate the ideal resonance, making the Gaohu sound identical and sweeter than the master made orchestral Gaohu. This Gaohu is suitable for studio recordings, solo recordings and orchestral section performance.
