Description
EcoErhu understands the needs of the musician community in creating the Concerto Erhu. Here's the paradox: A Concerto Erhu Musician wants something powerful and yet mellow. Two very distinct requirements.
A powerful Erhu demands excellent wood density and resonance and high-tension skin, A mellow Erhu demands lower density OR a less tight skin OR a thicker skin. So it seems to get a powerful yet mellow Erhu, you need great wood, and thick skin, well-evened out. For anything less than $1500, a high impossibility.
EcoErhu purchased beams off demolished temples in 2010, and the wood parts are now mature for making concerto-level EcoErhus. The age of the beams easily exceeds 150 years old, and the parts are formed and left to dry for at least 30 months for them to stabilize before making EcoErhus. We have less than 20 for sale every single year, and due to the fluctuating material prices, future batches may not be priced this low.
This Erhu is meant for serious concerto performers who demand the maximum out of an Erhu, and is designed to play traditional concerto pieces.
